-
- What is HI LOW?
- ===============
- HI LOW is a 32-bit wcCODE executable (WCX32) game exclusively for Sysops
- running Wildcat! v5 (contact the home board for a version coded for
- Wildcat v4). It is a relatively simple, yet addictive card game with
- colorful graphics, and lots of features. Here are just some:
- - Random "risk" factor for bet payoffs
- - Configurable jokers in deck
- - Random jackpots
- - 'Five in a row' suprise
- - Top 10 scores bulletin
- - True 32-bit WCX
-
- The object of the game is to wager a certain amount of money and then
- decide if the next card to be turned over will be higher or lower in
- value than the previous one. Certain cards have higher "bet payoff"
- values (bet x 1 , bet x 2, etc) and thus the amount wagered is multiplied
- by the payoff value if you win. To make things interesting, the number
- of jokers in the pack can be configured by the sysop. If the card turned
- over is a joker, the player goes bankrupt! The highest card in the deck
- is an ACE (A) and the lowest card is a 2.
-
-
- Registration
- ============
- HI LOW is a free program for Wildcat! Sysops. It is NOT crippled in anyway.
- By calling the support board and getting your personal registration#, you
- will eliminate the "*UNREGISTERED*" prompt at the top of the display file
- and instead, your BBS Name will be displayed. A simple "thanks" will
- suffice :)

-
- Setting up HI LOW
- =================
- HI LOW is relatively easy to set up. If you have any problems, support is
- available on the Home board. If you any any comments or suggestions, please
- forward them asap. The following steps should get you up and running in
- under 5 minutes:
-
- 1. Unzipping the archive
- ---------------------
- Unzip the contents of the archive into the Wildcat home directory.
-
- 2. Editing the Configuration file
- ------------------------------
- HI LOW reads most of its settings from a configuration file called
- HILOW.CFG. This is a simple ascii file that must be modified to
- reflect your personal preferences. The format for each line in the
- file is noted in the HILOW.CFG file. This file must also reside in
- the wildcat home directory, so go edit it now!
-
- 3. Setting up the HILOW.WCX
- -------------------------
- Fire up wcMENU and add a selection key on your door menu to run
- HILOW. Here is an example:
- Selection Key: 4
- Description: HI LOW card game
- Command Type: Run wcCODE program
- Program: HILOW
- Parameters:
- Make sure you set the proper access to this menu option by clicking
- the "Access" button.
-
-
- 4. Relax
- -----
- That's it - you are done.
